Our tubing trips range from 1.5 to 3 hours depending on river flow, whether you just float or paddle, and how many stops you make.

What should I bring for a float trip in Missouri?
We recommend leaving valuables at home.

  • Waterproof bag or box for your phone, car keys etc. if you want to take them on the river. We recommend something with an attached strap or carabiner to attach it to something that floats.

  • Cooler with beverages and snacks. Bringing your own alcohol is permitted, no glass is allowed on the beach or river. Water is highly recommended, especially on hot days!

  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, etc. for sun protection.

  • Water shoes. We recommend solid, closed toe water shoes or sandals with straps. Flip flops and bare feet are not recommended.

  • Towel and a change of clothes to have in your car for the end.

  • We have a variety of life vests available, but if you have a preferred size or style, feel free to bring your own. By MO law, each person on a paddle board or raft must have an approved PFD available in case of emergency. They are not required on tubes.

Is floating the James River family-friendly?
Absolutely! Our river routes are beginner-friendly and safe for kids, with shallow sections and slow current. If you don’t want to float, we also offer day passes for access to our Eagles Bluff Beach where you can swim and play.

When is the best time to go tubing in Missouri, and what if there’s bad weather?
Late spring through early fall (May–September) is ideal for floating, with the warmest water and best weather.

If we deem it unsafe to float (water levels, lightening, or other inclement weather) we will attempt to notify you prior to floating to reschedule. If you're unable to reschedule, we will issue a refund minus our card processing fees. If you choose not to float, we will do our best to reschedule with adequate notice; no refunds will be issued.
