How long are your float trips?
We offer two float options:
-
2 Mile Float: ~1–3 hours
Starts at our private drop at Horsecreek Ranch & Retreat and ends at Eagles Bluff Beach. -
6 Mile Float: ~4–6 hours
Park at our Bald Eagle lot, then we shuttle you to the drop point.
Times vary based on water flow, how much you paddle, and how often you stop. All equipment must be returned by 7 PM.

Tube, kayak, paddleboard, or raft

We also offer day passes to Eagles Bluff Beach if you prefer to swim and relax without floating.
Is paddleboarding available?
Yes! We offer beginner-friendly inflatable paddleboards, including a large family-style board that’s very stable and hard to tip.
What should I bring for a float trip?
We recommend:
-
Waterproof bag for phone/keys (with strap or clip)
-
Cooler with drinks/snacks (no glass; alcohol allowed)
-
Plenty of water
-
Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
-
Closed-toe water shoes or strapped sandals (no flip flops)

Towel and change of clothes for after
We provide life vests, but you’re welcome to bring your own. Missouri law requires a PFD on board for kayaks, paddleboards, and rafts (not required for tubes).
Can I bring my own tube, kayak, or paddleboard?
We don’t transport personal equipment, but you can purchase a day pass for:
-
Full day beach and bathhouse access
-
Parking and self-shuttling your gear
Do you allow alcohol on float trips?
Yes—responsible alcohol use is allowed.
No glass containers are permitted on the river or beach.
When is the best time to float the James River?
The best season is May through September, when weather and water conditions are ideal.
We operate in light rain, but for safety, we may delay or cancel trips due to severe weather or water conditions.
If we cancel, we’ll help reschedule or issue a refund (minus processing fees if applicable).
Do you offer group float trips?
Yes! We specialize in group bookings including:
-
Families
-
Bachelor/bachelorette parties

Corporate outings

Can I fish during my float trip?
Fishing is allowed from our beach area, but not from inflatables to prevent equipment damage.
A valid Missouri fishing license is required.

You don’t have to float!
We offer day passes (9 AM – 6 PM) for access to Eagles Bluff Beach so you can swim, relax, and enjoy the river without booking a float.
