Nestled above the clear waters of the James River, our North "Shabins" offer four private river-view units with premium furnishings and modern amenities. Each unit features all the comforts of home: a kitchenette, bathroom with shower, living room, and daybed on the main floor, loft with a 1/2 bath, king bed, and twin bunkbeds. Guests have access to our covered grilling station, Eagles Bluff Beach, and will receive a discount code to book a river float.

What is James River Hideout?
Our cabins are four private units with exterior entrances, in one building. They sleep 5 guests and each features a kitchenette, loft bedroom, and two bathrooms.
Are your cabins near the James river?
Yes, our premium cabins are nestled just above the James River for easy access to swimming and floating.
What amenities come with your Missouri cabins?
Each cabin includes a kitchenette with full size fridge and ice maker, microwave, and utensils; a living area with a full bathroom and twin daybed on the main floor; and a loft bedroom with California king bed, twin bunk beds, and half bath. Linens and towels are provided. They are individually climate controlled. An outdoor shared picnic space includes a gas grill, Traeger pellet grill/smoker, and a Blackstone griddle along with tables and chairs.
Is there Wi-Fi in the cabins at James River Hideout?
We have Star link Wi-Fi for those who want to stay connected, though most guests enjoy unplugging from digital life.
Can I book a cabin for a weekend trip from Kansas City or St. Louis?
Yes, we’re a convenient weekend escape, located a little over 3 hours from both Kansas City and St. Louis.
Are pets allowed in the cabins?
Pets are not allowed, with the exception of service animals as defined by the ADA.
Are linens and towels provided in the cabins?
Yes, all cabins include fresh linens, towels, and basic toiletries to make packing easy.
Is there parking near the cabins?
Yes, free on-site parking is available just steps from each cabin.
Can I cook at the cabin?
Yes! Each cabin has a kitchenette with a microwave, air fryer, and toaster; and there's a shared grilling and picnic station.
Is there heat and A/C in the cabins?
Yes, all cabins are individually climate-controlled for year-round comfort - perfect for summer or cozy fall stays.
Are the cabins open in the winter?
